Daniels said she was "saddened" the other two dancers arrested with her did not have their charges dismissed. Officers also say she was fondling the breasts of female patrons.

Prosecutors dropped charges Thursday against Stormy Daniels just hours after the porn star was arrested and accused of illegally rubbing undercover police officers' faces against her bare breasts during a performance at an OH strip club.

Avenatti said Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, was arrested while "performing the same act she has performed across the nation at almost a hundred strip clubs".

Her attorney said she was "set up" in a Columbus police sting operation, calling it an "absurd use of law enforcement resources".

Prosecutors say the "touching" statute only applies to strippers who "regularly appear" at the establishment. Per Ohio law, only family members are allowed to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer.

"It was represented to the State that Defendant has not appeared consistently and repeatedly at Sirens [strip club]", Gibson wrote in the documents. "Therefore, the State can not prove every element of these offenses beyond a reasonable doubt".

According to the police report, vice officers reported to the strip club Wednesday night to investigate complaints about alleged drug activity and prostitution. "As a result of what happened last night, I will unfortunately be unable to go forward with tonight's scheduled performance", her statement reads. Two wrinkles, though. Michael Avenatti claims that the cops asked her to do it, which if true sounds like entrapment. A person who answered the phone at the strip club declined to comment.

Ms Daniels was arrested for allegedly letting a customer touch her on stage "in a non-sexual manner", her lawyer tweeted.

Daniels was busted in Columbus and taken to police headquarters at about 4:30 a.m.

What were they going to charge her with, "Motorboating in the first degree"? Additionally, Daniels is accused of putting her breasts on three officers' faces.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, posted bail and was released Thursday morning, CNN reports. The case has emerged as one of the most problematic lawsuits of Trump's presidency, helping trigger a criminal investigation into Cohen's financial dealings.

Columbus, home to The Ohio State University, is the state capital and its largest city.
