  • Liverpool have agreed a fee to sign Xherdan Shaqiri

Stoke have accepted a bid of just over £13.5m for the forward, after Liverpool met the release clause valuation in Shaqiri's contract.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Shaqiri in recent months and TeamTalk reported earlier this week that Manchester United had joined their rivals in the race to sign the Switzerland worldwide.

Today, Liverpool are set to sign Man Utd target Xherdan Shaqiri...

The 26-year-old scored eight goals and made seven assists in 36 Premier League games for the Potters last season but could not prevent them from dropping down to the Championship.

That represents fine business for Liverpool considering Shaqiri's ability and experience.

Now, the Daily Mail report that a £13.75million deal has been agreed between the two clubs, and Shaqiri will undergo a medical with Liverpool today ahead of completing his move.

Shaqiri, who was in action at the World Cup this summer with Switzerland, will become Klopp's third signing of the current transfer window. Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah are the undisputed first-choice attacking trio, but Shaqiri will provide an excellent rotation option as the Reds fight on multiple fronts next season.
