Roy Keane Didn't Have Much Sympathy For 'Sloppy' England After Loss

Manchester United legend Roy Keane and Arsenal icon Ian Wright clashed after England's World Cup semifinal defeat to Croatia.

Picking an argument with someone like Roy Keane is a bit like insulting Vinnie Jones' mum, not the best idea.

"Before the game, the whole talk was about the final, the final", began Keane, directing his comments at Wright.

England had been gripped by World Cup fever following the team's march to the semi-final stage, with popular English terrace chant "Football's coming home" making a revival among fans.

Mr Keane criticised the way they were planning parades and thinking about the final before they even got there. "The final and (finalists) France", said Keane.

Keane stuck to his original point, though, replying: "I don't mind you being happy, but you were getting carried away".

"And I was right".

'We wasn't talking about the final, we were just having a laugh with ya.

"The fact is we were happy, and you weren't happy with us being happy". You need a reality check man. Get excited when they get to the final man!

Ever the stony-faced pragmatist, the Irishman and former United captain Keane accused ex-England striker Wright of getting caught losing focus on the immediate games of the World Cup.

He took some flak, on social media, for his forthright views before, during and after the game but, when it came to the crunch, he cut to the core of England's failure.

The quartet of former footballers were last together earlier in the tournament and viewers got a real kick out of Keane telling his colleagues to cool the jets after they beat Panama 6-1.

The Three Lions were knocked out of the World Cup by Croatia in the semi-finals tonight.

Let's hope Wrighty and Keano are sat next to each other on the plane home from Russian Federation.
