  • Mahrez insists he has joined Man City to fight for the big trophies

The Algerian posed for photographs before taking a seat and answering questions about his move to the Etihad Stadium.

Mahrez, who was named the CAF African Footballer of the Year in 2016 after lifting the Premier League title with Leicester City in the 2015/16 campaign, made 179 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 48 goals and assisting another 38 strikes.

He said: "The Champions League is for big clubs, they're a big club, they have everything to try to win it".

'It's a club that wants to win this type of trophy, the Champions League is for big clubs and City is a big club'.

"It's a club which wants to win the Champions League". It is a goal. Pep is committed to playing attacking football, which is flawless for me, and City's performances last season were outstanding.

Mahrez, 27, arrives at the club following a failed move in January.

City's keepers, including Claudio Bravo, were tested by a variety of shots as they were put through their paces. "I am very happy to be here". This is the past and we are looking forward now. "It's a good thing".

Mahrez insists he has no worries about the size of the transfer fee City have paid for him.

He said: "That means a lot for me".

"I'm very happy to be here, to have signed for this club", said Mahrez.

"The prices have been big in every country".

Mahrez has been in demand since Leicester's run to Premier League glory in 2015-16 but he hopes the move has come at the right time in his career.

Mahrez, however, believes he is capable of breaking into Pep Guardiola's plans.

Speaking about his new boss Pep Guardiola, Mahrez added: "Pep is a big manager who has won a lot of things and made history at this club".
