Ahead of Trump's visit, protesters in the United Kingdom have launched a campaign to play American Idiot so many times that, by the time he arrives, the song will be the No. 1 single in the U.K. The incessant downloads started July 6 and will continue through Thursday. The song is now the best selling song on Amazon in the UK. "American Idiot" was originally inspired by American political events that occurred around the time it was released, such as George W. Bush's presidency and the Iraq war.

The president is scheduled to stay in London on the night of his arrival but will spend the rest of his trip outside of the capital. After Trump's "working visit" - as opposed to a formal state visit - was announced in April, the effort went into overdrive.

The song was the No.1 single on Amazon's list of best-selling songs on 9 July, and it also crept into the iTunes Top 10 on the same day, according to the Huffington Post.
