The Washington Post reported Saturday that USA intelligence officials had evidence showing that North Korea does not intend to give up its entire nuclear stockpile, despite Trump's claim that there is "no longer a nuclear threat" from the country after the Singapore summit. You haven't seen nuclear - you haven't seen the nuclear detonations.

Pompeo has twice traveled to Pyongyang in recent months, once as Central Intelligence Agency chief and another time as secretary of state, meeting with Kim both times.

It's unclear whether Pyongyang would agree to that.

A U.S. delegation, led by U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim, met with North Korean officials on Sunday in the truce village of Panmunjom. But recently disclosed information has contradicted that claim.

The Washington Post on Saturday cited unnamed USA intelligence officials as concluding that North Korea does not intend to fully surrender its nuclear stockpile.

Meanwhile, the USA team wants to put some meat on the bone of the four-point declaration signed June 12 in Singapore by President Trump and Mr. Kim.

"This is not like North Korea cheating or deceiving the USA because they've made no commitments".

Bolton on Sunday declined to comment on intelligence matters.

In a tweet, Mr Trump said North Korea has conducted "no Rocket Launches or Nuclear Testing in 8 months".

"The expansion of the production infrastructure for North Korea's solid-fuel missile infrastructure probably suggests that Kim Jong Un does not intend to abandon his nuclear and missile programs", he told the Wall Street Journal.

Trump could dangle a second meeting in NY as an incentive for North Korea to follow that timeline, officials told Axios.

But experts say there is no proof North Korea's halt of nuclear and missile tests means the North will take concrete steps to give up such weapons. Saying there were no concessions made by Washington, President Trump also highlighted that he envisions a great future for North Korea.

Kim and Trump both signed a document on June 12 stating that Pyongyang would work toward "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula".

He also said he trusted Kim to follow through on denuclearization.

At the same time, USA envoy Sung Kim held talks with North Korean officials on Sunday in the border village of Panmunjom within the demilitarised zone between the North and South Korea, South Korean media reported on Sunday.

USA intelligence agencies have for at least a year believed that the number of warheads is about 65, as reported last year by The Washington Post.

Nauert similarly dodged a question on the specific timeline imposed on North Korea regarding getting rid of its illegal nuclear weapons program.

After Pompeo's third trip to Pyongyang wraps up, he will visit Japan to brief government officials on the progress of talks on the United States' "shared commitment to the final, fully verified denuclearization" of the North, according to the State Department.

He said the one-year program the proposing would cover all of the Norths chemical and biological weapons, nuclear programs and ballistic missiles. This would be something of a reversal of a normal denuclearization process in which inspections of nuclear facilities and sites come before a verifiable dismantling of nuclear assets.

The report came amid increasing skepticism voiced by U.S. intelligence officials about Kim's pledge to denuclearize his country and mounting evidence the rogue regime was continuing to develop its missile and nuclear sites. Stanford University academics, including nuclear physicist Siegfried Hecker, a leading expert on the North's nuclear program, have proposed a 10-year roadmap for that task; others say it could take less time. Others think Kim might try to drag out the process and wait out the Trump administration, which a year ago had provided a credible threat of military force against the North.
