Conor McGregor to Receive Life-Sized Statue of Himself for 30th Birthday

Controversial MMA fighter Conor McGregor has made a decision to gift himself the only thing he doesn't already own, and that is a life-size statue of himself carved out of stone.
Conor McGregor is turning 30 this week - and Lithuanian artist Edgar Askelovic, better known as Aspencrow - may have just created the ideal gift for the UFC fighter: a massive statue of himself.
In an interview with Anatomy of A Fighter (via MMA Fighting), UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said that he thinks that the victor of Dustin Poirier vs. Eddie Alvarez at UFC on FOX 28 (on July 28) should get the next title shot.
"He is a phenomenon of our time - not just a smart athlete, but also a visionary".
One of those fights being most discussed, is a lightweight super clash between top stars Conor McGregor, and reigning champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
McGregor has not fought since his boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.
"It's really phenomenal. And, of course, someone chose to immortalize it in this way. I don't know what's going to happen - is he going to get fined, be on probation, is he going to get this, that - when that is over with, then we will start talking about him fighting". Luckily McGregor is clothed in this statue, unlike Michelangelo's David.
Edgar - who said one of McGregor's friends had told him the fighter liked the piece - added: "It's up to you what you see in it".
Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is back in training and already listed few opponents he would like to lock horns with if Conor Mcgregor or Georges St-Pierre falls out. The two versions will be unveiled at Mayfair's JD Malat Gallery on July 14 and will eventually be sold. "I feel he's my soulmate".
