  • Ken Giles may have cursed at manager A.J. Hinch after getting pulled from Tuesday’s game. More

When manager A.J. Hinch went to the mound to pull Giles from the game, the struggling closer cursed at Hinch before leaving the field. He was taken out of the game after allowing three singles, including an RBI single, cutting into the Astros' lead, 4-1.

The right-hander allowed three runs without recording an out in Houston's 6-5, extra-inning victory against Oakland on Tuesday.

Astros reliever Ken Giles has been demoted to Triple-A after an outburst during the ninth inning of an Astros win Tuesday. When asked about it after the game, Hinch said he'd have to ask Giles if it was directed at him.

Before that insane 11th-inning comeback, closer Ken Giles allowed three runs without recording an out in the ninth inning.

"I did hear about it", Hinch told reporters. I don't know, man. You can certainly understand I'll address it. He punched himself in the face after another bad outing.

The demotion comes as Giles' poor season continues.

Come Wednesday, Giles was no longer on the big-league club. He was given the game with a 4-0 Astros lead. He's given up 36 hits and 17 earned runs.
