  • The 5.8-inch iPhone X is the smallest compared to the iPhone 9 and iPhone X Plus

The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone X style device should retail for around $700.

Perhaps, most excitingly, Kuo says the new iPhones will come in a plethora of colors.

Apple's iPhone line typically offers a relatively small set of colors, with silver, gold, and black usually being the three options at launch, later joined by a Product (RED) variant.

That's a potential five new colors for the LCD model. In a few months, Apple is expected to unveil three new smartphones including a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone, a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, and a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone. We have heard some mumblings prior to today's report about Apple expanding the color options for the cheaper phone, but this is the first time someone reputable has reported specifics. Will the red version be a (PRODUCT) RED version?

Renowned analyst and Apple-watcher Ming-Chi Kuo (who previously worked for KGI Securities, but moved to TF International Securities in April) claims that Apple is gearing up to release a cheaper iPhone later this year in a range of new colors.

Kuo's predictions indicate that the higher-end models still won't see quite as many options in terms of visuals, but there could be a new gold option for the larger 6.5-inch OLED display model, the most expensive one expected this year.

Apple will achieve the $700 price point by leaving out premium features such as the dual-cameras and stainless-steel frame. This means that the 5.8-inch phone will likely drop $100 or so in price.
