  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr., touted Toronto Blue Jays prospect, placed on seven-day disabled list

He was placed on the seven-day disabled list the following day and traveled to Toronto's spring training facility in Florida on Friday for tests. He should be considered day-to-day until the Blue Jays update his status in the coming days.

Any talk of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. being promoted within the Blue Jays organization is temporarily on hold as the 19-year-old superstar has suffered the first setback of his pro career.

MLB.com's No. 2 overall prospect, the highest-ranked player still in the minors, was hurt during Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Akron RubberDucks. "He feels fine, we're just being cautious with it", said New Hampshire Fisher Cats manager John Schneider.

The Canadian-born Guerrero is the son of former Montreal Expos and Los Angeles Angels star Vladimir Guerrero, who will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame next month.

Guerrero is hitting.407 with a.457 on-base percentage nad.667 slugging average.
