But Burton's Disney adaptation of Dumbo surprisingly reigns back the darkness and gives us a little more of that childhood awe in the Dumbo trailer.

All those who are familiar with the tale of Dumbo can rejoice over the fact that Disney is making a live-action adaptation of the story. Dumbo is set for release next year. Burton personally chose the singer-songwriter to be involved in the film. It's also a surprising departure for Burton, whose name has become synonymous with a Gothic flair and kabuki-mask faces. The new trailer includes shots of the circus and even a fleeting glimpse of Dumbo in flight. Tim Burton is swapping big eyes for big ears, bringing his unique visual sensibilities to a new version of 1941's Dumbo.

Disney unveiled the first look at Dumbo at CinemaCon in April, providing the first look at the flying elephant in live-action.

The live-action film stars Danny DeVito, Colin Farrell, Alan Arkin, Eva Green and Michal Keaton.

However, Dumbo's caretaker soon learns that Dreamland isn't what it appears to be.

Colin Farrell is leading this film as a widower/father of two and animal caretaker Holt, opposite the (presumably villainous) ringmaster Max, played by Danny DeVito. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland.
