According to a release from Penguin Random House, Stranger Things: World Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion will give fans a deeper look at the popular Netflix series.

Another book, a prequel due out in early 2019, will tell the story of Eleven's mother and how the MKUltra experiments led to Eleven being born with her abilities. Gwenda Bond will write the prequel. The other, untitled book will be more abstract, drawing inspiration from the Stranger Things world to offer "advice, wisdom, and warnings" for young readers. The books will be released in the USA and the United Kingdom, with worldwide release dates to follow. More books for young readers and adults will arrive later in 2019. Your homework for the next season of the Netflix series is coming this fall: A series of Stranger Things books will be arriving at a store near you.

Stranger Things tells the story of a group of young friends living in a small town in IN in the 1980s - and the odd happenings that threaten them all.

The Stranger Things novel companion series will appear first in the U.S. and United Kingdom under the imprints of Del Rey Books, Random House Children's Books, Cornerstone Publishing, and Penguin Random House Children's United Kingdom, with global distribution to follow. Season 3 has already added three new characters: Francesca Reale (Haters Back Off) as a lifeguard at the Hawkins Community Pool "who becomes the centerpiece of a dark mystery", Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) as Mayor Kline, and Jake Busey (Star Ship Troopers) as Bruce, a journalist for the Hawkins newspaper.
