Sanford had never lost a political race in SC and his defeat Tuesday was an abrupt end to a roller-coaster political career that included a resignation as South Carolina's governor following his admission of the affair. In the House, there were 13 Democratic primaries and seven among Republican candidates.


Heller was a past critic of the president but has become closer to him in recent months and helped deliver the overhaul of the US tax codes to Trump's desk in December.

"Congress isn't honoring their constitutional responsibility to oversight and accountability", she said. McMaster must win 50% of the vote or more in order to avoid what would be an embarrassing runoff. Will this year's primary for U.S. Senate be anywhere close to that?

The district includes Virginia Beach, the state's largest city, and the world's largest Navy base in Norfolk. CNN rates both as Lean Republican. CNN rates it Likely Republican.

Cramer's decision to run for Senate leaves his congressional seat open. CNN rates this race as Lean Democrat.

Nevada and North Dakota are home to two of the most pivotal Senate races this year.

Democrats in Northern Wisconsin declared victory in a state Senate special election on Tuesday, the party's 43rd red-to-blue state legislative flip since President Donald Trump stepped into the White House previous year. If no one receives a majority, the last-place candidate is dropped and those voters' second choice voters get added to the original vote count.

"In our last election with the school bond referendum, we had approximately six hundred voters to come in and vote".
