Natalie Joyce speaks for first time after Barnaby's affair

  • The very public fallout of Mr Joyce's affair has dominated news sites since the story broke in February

Barnaby Joyce's estranged wife has accused him of cruelly taunting her.

She shares memories of growing up in the bush she still calls home, of teaching the importance of being kind, and with grace and conviction shares her feelings on Vikki Campion, a woman she says destroyed her family and stole her life.

It was March a year ago when Ms Joyce knew she could no longer hold her silence about her husband's infidelity.

Describing herself as a normally a very private person, Mrs Joyce said she was speaking out because she felt the need to stand up for herself.

Natalie Joyce has also hit out at her ex-husband and his new partner Vikki Campion for their paid television tell-all interview, labelling it an "absolute disgrace".

She said she knew her marriage was over in July 2017 following an overseas trip with her husband.

The final showdown involved explicit words, but Mrs Joyce said she is proud she "stood up to her".

"I stood there paralysed, my stomach wrenched in a million knots, and I knew then the marriage was all but over", she said.

Natalie Joyce (right) said Vikki Campion had set out to steal her life.

She confronted Ms Campion at Mr Joyce's Tamworth electorate office in March 2017, telling her: "My husband is out of bounds, off-limits, he's a married man with four children".

Ms Joyce told Women's Weekly she had to resist "throwing a brick at the TV" as she watched Mr Joyce's interview with Channel Seven earlier this month, for which he was reportedly paid $150,000. "In saying that, I wouldn't want a cent of that money", she said.

While Ms Joyce wasn't surprised that they had sold their story for $150,000, she said they did everything they could not to throw a brick through the TV.

Mr Joyce said he clung on to his job as deputy prime minister for two weeks out of "spite", rather than quit and end a political headache for the government.

She and her four daughters, Bridgette, 21, Julia, 20, Caroline, 18 and Odette, 15, all sat down together to watch their husband and father speak openly alongside Ms Campion about their new child Sebastian - a name that Ms Joyce says they had always wanted to give to a son.

"I was very measured and didn't raise my voice".
