  • Report: Michael Cohen ‘Likely’ to Cooperate With Federal Prosecutors

After FBI agents raided Cohen's office in April, Ryan and his NY partner, Todd Harrison, went to court to try to keep investigators from seeing some of the confiscated files on the grounds that they were protected by attorney client privilege.

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who is under investigation for a number of possible crimes ranging from bank fraud to campaign finance violations, is reportedly concerned that he could be arrested any day now, according to friends of Cohen who spoke to Vanity Fair and New York Daily News.

"Attorney-client privilege is dead!"

Investigators seized 3.7 million records in the raid, which Cohen's defense team argued he should have the first look at.

It's unclear if who will represent Cohen moving forward. The New York Times said an issue with payment of legal bills prompted the change.

Law&Crime reached out to both Mr. Ryan and Mr. Harrison for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of NY is investigating Cohen for various possible crimes, including potential bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

The split could signal a shift in legal strategy and comes amid mounting pressure on Cohen as criminal charges could become likely. Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who claims she had sex with Trump in 2006 and was then paid $130,000 to keep quiet about it, has also asked to join the case. Cohen has not been criminally charged. "Trump should be super anxious about Michael Cohen", a former White House official said.

Trump has repeatedly said there was no collusion, and Russian Federation has denied interference.
