‘IT Chapter Two’: Xavier Dolan & Will Beinbrink Cast In New Line Sequel

22 June, 2018, 04:40 | Author: Dominic Spencer

Deadline reports that Xavier Dolan & Will Beinbrink have joined the cast of New Line Cinema's IT: Chapter Two. The story centers around the Losers' Club as adults lured back to their hometown of Derry, Maine to face off against Pennywise. Tom at the Farm star Xavier Dolan has been tapped to portray Adrian Mellon, who, in the Stephen King novel, is a minor gay character who is harassed by the homophobic townsfolk of Derry and ultimately meets face-to-face with Pennywise.

The "It: Chapter Two" cast also includes Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Isaiah Mustafa.

Beinbrink, known for playing Russell on Queen of the South and Deputy Riley Martin on Revolution, will play Tom Rogan, the abusive lover of Beverly "Bev" Marsh from the Stephen King-penned novel and the 1990s It miniseries. Bill Skarsgard will be returning to play Pennywise.

IT director Andy Muschietti is returning to the helm, working from a script by IT writer Gary Dauberman, with Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Barbara Muschietti, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg producing.

It: Chapter Two is scheduled to be released in theaters on theaters on September 6, 2019.

IT debuted in September of past year to the tune of $123.1 million on opening weekend, the highest opening weekend ever for a September release, for a fall release, and for a horror movie.

Beinbrink's casting reunites him with McAvoy, Hader, and Chastain, all of whom Beinbrink worked with on Ned Benson's three-part film, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Dolan most recently wrote, directed, and produced The Death and Life of John F. Donovan - his very first English-language movie - which features a cast including Kathy Bates, Kit Harington, Natalie Portman, Jacob Tremblay, and Susan Sarandon. Beinbrink's recent film credits include Free State of Jones and I Saw the Light.

Dolan is repped by CAA and Thirty Three Management, while Zero Gravity Management and GVA Talent Agency rep Beinbrink.
