The KCNA report noted that Kim and Trump walked together after lunch, "deepening friendly feelings" and held a "meaningful photo session" to commemorate the signing of the agreement.
The welcome from Japan was conspicuously less effusive than from other countries, with Tokyo under direct threat from North Korean missiles and reliant on the USA for its defence.
"USFK has received no updated guidance on execution or cessation of training exercises - to include this fall's schedule Ulchi Freedom Guardian", US Forces in Korea's Lieutenant-Colonel Jennifer Lovett said in a statement.
He said that Kim is "very smart" and a "good negotiator".
Donald Trump's groundbreaking meeting with Kim Jong Un, the hereditary leader of a dynastic dictatorship, was heralded by the main players as a breakthrough that will bring about major change, but left others wondering: What now? Their marathon meetings on Monday ended only when Washington yielded to Pyongyang and agreed to leave the term out. Trump's total sidelining of North Korea's infamous human rights abuses has also caused concern.
In a blockbusting press conference after the summit, Trump said the USA would halt military exercises with Seoul - something long sought by Pyongyang, which claims the drills are a rehearsal for invasion.
Observers said Kim, who had earlier been written off by many critics as a "lunatic", had showed himself to be a rational and disciplined negotiator.
While the USA has yet to confirm the contents of the reports, they suggest that the two leaders reached more verbal agreements than they put on paper, and made public.
In South Korea, the liberal Kyunghyang Shinmun newspaper said Trump and Kim have started a "march of peace" to end almost seven decades of hostility and pave the way for permanent peace and prosperity on the peninsula. Even after Trump took charge of the presidency, Pyongyang didn't let up in the tests, claiming to have tested a hydrogen bomb and then an inter-continental ballistic missile, a huge leap in destructive power.
Rogers said South Korean companies like automaker Hyundai and the tech giant Samsung will consider investing in North Korea.
"For North Korea, they got exactly what they wanted", Moon Seong-mook, a former South Korean military official and current head of the Unification Strategy Center in Seoul.
Photographs of Trump and Kim Jong Un crowded the first half of Wednesday's six-page Rodong Sinmun, the pair in various situations at the summit venue in Singapore.
"Only five months ago, based on my conversations with this administration, I thought we were headed down an inexorable path toward a devastating war", Victor Cha, who was considered for the role of United States ambassador to South Korea for nearly a year by the Trump administration before being passed over, wrote in The New York Times on Tuesday.
The Pentagon said on Tuesday that it was consulting with the White House and others, but was silent on whether the August exercise would proceed.
At least some level of participation by that group - which collectively applied enough pressure on Pyongyang to come to the negotiating table - will be necessary if Trump's nuclear gamble is to succeed.
"North Korea seems to be highlighting this as one of Kim Jong Un's greatest feats yet and lauding itself for keeping the North Korean regime from collapsing while succeeding in shaking up the U.S".
Kim also tried to win over the public in Singapore, taking a surprising break from his intense preparations for night tour of the city.
In addition to the pictures of Kim on the tour on Tuesday, separate landscape shots of the Marina Bay Sands hotel, and a bird's-eye view of Singapore from the hotel's observation deck were also shown.
Smiling to the cameras and waving to the media and tourists, Kim appeared friendly and relaxed, prompting the crowd to smile and wave back.
