A report Sunday by Windows Central states that Xbox One support for both devices is incoming.

"The full range of features for those assistants remain unknown, but it could bring many voice-assisted features", Windows Central reported on Sunday". It may be limited to just simple interface control, or it could be rolled out not only to the Xbox One system, but also developers producing games for it. Voice control in a game using a smart speaker? So, "Alexa, turn on my Xbox" turns on your console. It will reportedly arrive in “upcoming Xbox One builds”. But the $500 price of the console plus Kinect kept potential buyers away, and Microsoft quickly dropped Kinect from the bundle to lower the price. In that section, you'll be able to "Enable digital assistants", giving Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Cortana the opportunity to (potentially) control your Xbox. If you had a Kinect attached, or some other microphone, you could use Cortana - but that's a small subset of overall Xbox One users.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
