Apple expected to order fewer iPhone devices in 2018

This year, Apple is taking a "cautious approach", telling suppliers to prepare for 80 million iPhones, Nikkei reported.
Apple is reportedly planning to release fewer iPhone X models this year than it prepared to this time last year, meaning they may sell out fast.
A Nikkei report this morning suggests that Apple is significantly decreasing part orders for its upcoming 2018 iPhone models, a move deemed "quite conservative" by one of multiple sources confirming the change.
Shares in Apple plunged about two percent on the report; its suppliers AMS and Dialog Semi tanked six percent and 4.1 percent respectively.
That said, the £999 iPhone X was still the best selling smartphone in early 2018. As for the latest news, Apple has not made any comments so we'll be updating you guys on the latest.
Apple may well be preparing for smartphone fatigue with its conservative estimate, or this report might be flat out wrong like those which pegged the firm's iPhone X as a failure a year ago.
