Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII is running at over 160 frames-per-second on Activision's demo PCs at this year's E3.
As part of the E3 celebrations, fans can now grab a new pre-order bonus for when Call of Duty Black Ops 4 launches later this year.
Another key aspect of this Black Ops Pass is the inclusion of Zombies, especially after rumors indicated Black Ops 4 could have a Zombies-only Season Pass.
It will remain to be seen how long it will take for Activision to make the Black Ops Pass available standalone, or how much it will cost. However, the bigger news is you can't buy the standard edition of the game and then buy the Season Pass separately. The Black Ops Pass will be available standalone at a later date, but to get it on day one and reap the immediate benefits, you gotta upgrade.
Activision's FAQ page for the Black Ops Pass contains some justification: "We're redefining the digital content season for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 by delivering more content with more frequency". Included in the Digital Deluxe edition of the game, the Black Ops Pass offers bonuses for Zombies, Multiplayer, and Blackout - the game's battle royale mode. Instead of four separate content downloads, expect more robust and more frequent availability of maps and other content. "It's a great way to dive into the Black Ops universe before Black Ops 4 launches on 12th October". In America it seems you get a full digital version of the game as well.
The changes made to the Black Ops Pass won't impact those who wanted the DLC to begin with, but it sets up an interesting dilemma for those on the fence.
