Quail Hollow presents one of those challenges.

However, too much has been made of the last 20 minutes, and too little of the 70 that went before it, as Jurgen Klopp's men destroyed a very decent side with constant pressing and unbelievable pace.

He approaches the biggest part of this season at No. 10 in the Ryder Cup standings, a chance for redemption.

"I think people in Wilmington are still talking about the tournament", General Chairman of the Wells Fargo Championship Mac Everett said on Monday. The greens aren't quite as fast as I remember but they are more hard. It's just a different kind of golf.

Kevin Streelman: $9,100I've been on Team Streelman all year, and it's paid off handsomely, as Streelman has wholly revitalized his game this year as a consistent force on tour.

Rory McIlroy enjoyed an encouraging start to his bid for a third victory at the Wells Fargo Championship, only for a storming finish by John Peterson to leave him three shots off the lead. He had a tight match against eventual victor Bubba Watson until losing on the 17th hole.

And so that brings us nicely to this week's edition of the Wells Fargo, and five long-priced sleepers who could well claim the "W".

The lineup is a Who's Who of golf, with virtually every big name in the sport other than world No. 1 Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth lined up and ready to take on one of the most challenging venues on the PGA Tour. Molinari proved his upside by finishing runner-up to Justin Thomas at Quail Hollow in the PGA Championship past year. He also tied for 10th in 2013 at Quail Hollow. Dechambeau almost won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and lost by a single stroke at the RBC Heritage his last time out.

That's what led Thomas to believe he is playing better this year.

It will be 11 months before McIlroy gets another crack at Augusta National, and in the meantime he's happy to be back at the Quail Hollow Golf Course in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he won his first PGA Tour title in 2010 and won again in 2015.

McIlroy's fellow Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell tees off at 6pm BST while Tiger Woods also plays his first tournament since the Masters, teeing off at 5.50pm BST.

The course flexed for the major, but this is a private, member-owned club when not hosting PGA Tour events.

"The way this golf course is set up and the way it's playing right now, the guys are going to be stacked", Woods said.

He loves golf. He also is a father - his son was born in October - and he would be just as happy in real estate development with a few friends in Fort Worth, Texas, than chasing around birdies and bogeys from one coast to the other.

Special mention: Tiger Woods did not crack the top 10 due to unanswered questions about his ability to drive the ball.

After Woods won the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, he tied for 13th in the 2001 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He did that twice: Pebble Beach in 2000 and Torrey Pines in 2008.

Romo failed for the second straight year to advance out of 18-hole local qualifying, which began Monday. He double bogeyed the 12th hole and finished 10th. "It's longer, but it's also more hard".
