The report, which came after an internal investigation from the company, said that neither management nor H.R. had any knowledge of Lauer's transgressions before november 27, 2017.

The result of the investigation on Matt Lauer's sexual misconduct allegations sides with the television personality's accusers.

According to the NBC report, the four women who accused Lauer of sexual misconduct late past year confirmed "that they did not tell their direct manager or anyone else in a position of authority about their sexual encounters with Lauer".

In a section titled "Culture Assessment", the report states that "the investigation team found current and former NBC News and Today Show leadership, News HR, and others interviewed who were in positions of authority in the News Division to be credible in their denials of knowledge of Lauer's inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace". The manager, who was not identified, agreed at the time to reassign the woman so that she would not travel alongside Mr. Lauer. Some of them, however, noted "Lauer could be flirtatious, would frequently make jokes, some with sexual overtones, and would openly engage in sexually-oriented banter in the workplace".

NBCUniversal lawyers say they found "no evidence" managers in the company's news division received internal complaints about Matt Lauer's behavior. "Many interviewed expressed shock upon studying press experiences relating to Lauer's alleged conduct, together with workers who spent important quantities of time with Lauer due to their job duties or having recognized him for years". "I admire their bravery and am profoundly grateful for their candor".

News' internal investigation following Matt Lauer's firing says it doesn't believe there is a culture of sexual harassment at the division and that current management wasn't aware of Lauer's behavior until the complaint that doomed him. The report claims executives did not receive complaints about the veteran journalist's behavior before November 2017.

The report added that no one at Today show leadership or News HR said they received a complaint about Lauer's inappropriate workplace behavior, and investigators "did not find any contrary evidence".

A footnote regarding Curry's allegations discussed the issue in this manner. In a discussion with the investigation team, Curry confirmed that she did not disclose to anyone in management that she had received a specific complaint.

Curry told The Washington Post that a woman came to her in 2012 saying Lauer had sexually harassed her, and that she had warned management about him. Vester also said a letter supporting Brokaw that circulated among NBC News employees - and was signed by the likes of Rachel Maddow and Andrea Mitchell - could have a chilling effect.

On Wednesday, over 5 months after Lauer was sacked, the community launched the findings of its inner investigation into the scandal. But the women said they deflected Lauer's comments, and he did not pursue them.

"I realize that sounds very naive and silly of me because I walked over there to do that". The sexual relationship lasted a month and only ended because Zinone left to start a new job in West Virginia as she had been planning to do before the affair began. They have both been spotted without their wedding rings, but they continue to live together in the same household.

Lauer said in his public apology he was sorry for the people he hurt. "But the damage in his marriage can't be fixed, and each would be better off to move on".
