Kristen Stewart Taking Off Her Heels at Cannes Is All of Us

  • Cannes Film Festival 2018 Cate Blanchett Michael B Jordan and Marion Cotillard make appearances on Day 6

The festival retains its black-tie dress code, which is open to interpretation but for the past few years has not been enforced as strictly as in the past. Another user tweeted, "Hooray for #KristenStewart taking off her high heels at Cannes, what a ludicrous rule!"

It wasn't clear if her act was a demonstration against Cannes' notorious policy of requiring women to wear high heels on the red carpet or whether she wanted to feel more secure on the somewhat soggy red carpet. But as she posed for the shutterbugs for pictures, she removed her stilettos and walked barefoot on the red carpet.

Although sure, we've been known to kick off our heels after a long night out and swap into flats, this barefoot expedition up the stairs had an underlying feminist message.

In 2016, Kristen pulled a similar stunt when she wore black trainers around Cannes and then swapped into a pair of silver heels just for the photo call.

This isn't the first time K-Stew has protested Cannes' controversial rule for women. "You can not come in", then (I'm going to say), "Neither is my friend, does he have to wear heels?". Does he have to wear heels?' It can work both ways.

The signing was done in the presence of this year's jury including president Cate Blanchett and members Kristen Stewart, Ava DuVernay and Lea Seydoux.

14 de mayo de 2018, 13:43Paris, May 14 (Prensa Latina) Mexican film "Comprame un revolver"(Buy me a Gun) had today its world premiere in the Directors´ Fortnight of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, a movie based on the impact of drug trafficking on that society.
