  • The Battlefield V reveal starts soon

Battlefield 5 made is grand debut today and, well, to be honest, it was kind of a disappointment. The trailer was revealed during a live announcement on Thursday (NZ time) with the TV host and veteran player South African comedian Trevor Noah. Before we talk about specifics, check out the reveal trailer for Battlefield 5.

Besides the regular details Dice mentioned that they give much thought on how to handle the monetary involvement in the game and made a decision to avoid the lootbox fiasco that plagued the Star Wars Battlefront II. Once again, the aim of this mode is to bring war into perspective with untold stories of real and relatable characters and their experiences.

Dice mentions there is a renewed movement system in Battlefield V with new animations, little was shared about it. It seems like a silly thing to get upset about as DICE doesn't appear to be creating a 100-percent historically accurate game, to begin with. One of them will be told from the perspective of a female Nowegian Resistance fighter, battling against the German occupation. Fan favorite modes like the 64-player Conquest return, with the game's multiplayer culminating in Grand Operations, an all-new live, event-based experience within Tides of War. Unfortunately, not much else was divulged about this mode, but hopefully, we learn more at E3.

Some other big news that was confirmed this week includes EA's plans for a Battlefield 5 beta. It's good stuff and also gives you an idea of how well Combined Ops will work in the game.

Battlefield V takes players back to the start of the franchise, setting the game in World War 2 once again. All of the game's major post-launch content - maps, modes, etc. - will be free for everybody in an effort to keep the community together. As reports suggested, it is indeed taking us back to World War II.

In new and classic multiplayer modes, players can lead their own unique Company to victory in a dynamic multiplayer experience where every battle is unique.

EA Dice revealed details about the latest entry to the Battlefield series at a conference on May 23, 2018.

But hey, the lack of actual gameplay shown didn't prevent EA from making Battlefield 5 available for pre-order already.
